NSA rugby players victorious against "Lokomotiv" (Sofia)
Published on 29 October 2024 In the second round of the men’s national rugby championship, the NSA team defeated "Lokomotiv" (Sofia). The match, the oldest city derby in men’s sports, attracted a large audience at the NSA "Vasil Levski" base. The home team prevailed with a score of 35:13 over the 2024 Bulgarian Cup holder, as both teams offered a spectacular, competitive, and at times highly emotional game. In the middle of the second half, the NSA team gained an advantage in the score, which they managed to maintain until the end of the match. The home team's success was mainly due to a longer offensive initiative and effective counteraction against Lokomotiv's heavy scrums. This win places the Sports Academy team in second place in the standings, following the leader "Balkan Cats" (Berkovitsa) and ahead of "Valyatsite," "Yantra," and "Lokomotiv." In the next round, the NSA team will visit "Yantra" in Gabrovo. |
