Doctor Honoris Causa

The National Sports Academy awards with Doctor Honoris Causa honorary degree prominent public and sport-engaged persons with special contributions to the development of sport education, Olympism and to preserving the values of youth civil and social integration.

The first ceremony took place in 1996 when the Academic Council of the NSA made decision for conferring the title as a way of honoring distinguished people.

Since then the honorary sign has been bestowed to 18 world sport and public leaders who accepted it with gratitude as a highly prestigious title. The recipients keep on showing their respect and positive attitude to the Sports Academy and contribute through the years to its academic and public image.
